Happy Thanksgiving 2008

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

This is my card for the WT194 - Giving Thanks on SCS challenge.

I think this was an awesome idea.

The paper is from CM Designer Prints Bountiful pack and Spiced Cider paper.

The Turkey is made from a Quickutz die, the stamp is from an acrylic set, and the Adirondack Ginger ink were borrowed from my mil.

She has the biggest scrap room I've seen. Plus, she owns a local store, Memory Depot.

Materials Used:
Paper: CM Designer Prints Bountiful, CM Spiced Cider
Ink: Adirondack Ginger Raised Felt Dye Ink Pad
Accessories: Quickutz Turkey

Happy Thanksgiving.

Wednesday Card Sketch Challenge

Hi!

I did this card for the SCS Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I really wanted to use my cute pink butterfly paper and I love the ribbon (which I got from Archiver's Hot Spot). Oh and I finally got a chance to use my Stickles on the butterfly stamp.

I just love Stickles but haven't figured out a way to use them in my designs until now.

I am always looking for awesome deals on scrap supplies. And with all the great sales going on BF, it's the perfect time to shop for them while shopping for those on your Christmas list. I definitely have to try and hit Micheal's, JoAnne's, Hobby Lobby, or Archiver's this weekend because we're doing Secret Santa in my scrapbook group.

For the banner that the butterfly is flying I stamped on a second sheet of paper and raised the banner up with Glue Dots. Just to give it more of a visual effect.

This is the sketch that I got from SCS.

It was a lot of fun trying to go by the sketch when creating this card.

This might be my last post until Monday. It depends on how Thanksgiving goes. However, we will be at my mil's house and since she is a big scrapbooker with her own room for all her scrap tools and her office with her albums. I might be able to come up with something.

If I don't see ya'll tomorrow I wanted to be sure to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Materials Used
Stamps: Acrylic stamp set I found in Micheal's $1 bin
Ink: VersaColor VC-82 Black
Accessories: ribbon (from Hot Spot at Archiver's) and Pink Stickles

Tech Monday

Hi!

I love going to Hero Arts website and blog. They send me emails 2x a week one with cool new cards and another with great Scrapbook layout ideas. But you've definitely got to check out their blog.

That is where Monday's Technique Challenge on SCS came from.

http://heroarts.com/blogs/club/2008/10/29/watch-it-wednesday-mini-card-with-a-surprise/

This is the card that I created for the challenge. I used my Simple Invites acrylic stamp set by CTMH, Best Yet stamp set by SU!, and this cute acrylic stamp set that I got from Memory Depot the set is made by A Muse Artstamps. I also got this cute Holly Berries/Spearmint paper by BasicGrey from Memory Depot.

I used my Quickutz Poinsettia die to make the poinsettia on the tag, the paper that I made it with feels like it's flocked, I actually heat embossed the tag. If you know me you should be amazed because if I want something heat embossed I usually get someone else to do it for me. Hey that heat embosser is pretty scary, I mean I don't even do my own hair. The last time my hair was curled my bridesmaids did it for me because we didn't want to bug my mom at the reception.

The tag is made with the awesome tag shapemaker from CM it's cool because you can either put a whole in the tag with this sneaky little whole punch in the shapemaker or no whole punch.

On the inside is where I used the A Muse acrylic stamp and the CTMH stamp as well as the large circle shapemaker by CM.

Let me just say I love the shapemakers because you get 2 punches for the price of one.

Happy Scrapping,

M.E.

P.S. We can thank dh for the pics turning out way better this time. See that's why he gets to take the pics and I get to scrap them.

Going to a baby shower

Hi readers!

I went to a baby shower today. It was a lot of fun.
But before I went you know that I had to get a little scrappy. So I created this card as well as a gift bag for the momma-to-be.

Bonus, since this is a card that I created using a stamp set that I got from Michael's $1 bin. I will be submitting it for the swap that I am participating in on Splitcoaststampers(SCS) in the Michael's Dollar Spot Swap.

The gift bag is a Victoria's Secret shopping bag. I must say those are the cutest shopping bags ever. But since it's not like I can reuse the bag for anything else without decorating it. I thought that since the colors are pink and white, anyway, that it would make the bag for a baby shower gift. Plus, I was able to recycle the bag this way.

I used a Sizzix die that I got when I purchased my Big Kick directly from Sizzix. I got an awesome deal on my Big Kick plus 2 Sizzix Die-cuts including shipping was $50. Which is awesome cause if you've gone and priced the Big Kick you'll know that they retail it for $99 and the dies that I bought retail for $15.99 each.

Sorry, if you click on the pics you can see a better pic. It seems that the pics on here get compressed in such a way that they aren't as good as the ones I tried to upload.

I usually get my dh to take the pics for me but he was asleep when I was getting ready for the baby shower. So there wasn't much time.

Happy crafting.

Welcome to my blog.

Hi!

Welcome to my blog I finally got it up and running a little.

I will have dh take some pics for me later of my latest card.

Or maybe I'll take the challenge to take some myself.

I'm terrible with a camera. Always cutting peoples heads off and such.

But maybe if its a card or layout I will do better. Lets cross our fingers.

Well, what's on my wishlist right now for scrap supplies, besides
all the new things that CM just came out with. I definitely want to
get Sizzix's Hello Kitty dies.

I just love that Hello Kitty. DH lets me keep a Hello Kitty sticker on
the back of the car. And he was customizing my office computer to be
all pink and Hello Kitty. But then I started using our living room
computer more, so that stopped him from finishing it. And now I
stole his laptop.

I'm just not allowed to take it anywhere other then to visit his folks.

Besides that I really would like Santa to help dh to get a shed so that
dh and I can finally switch offices. DH is a Computer GEEK and
proud of it. If you know one or are one you can google him under
ZapWizard. Personally, I just like to tour around the net, meet
people, and get my email.

So dh and I should switch offices because his is bigger and gets all
the direct sunlight. Which is bad if you're a GEEK but fantastic if you
scrap. And mine is all dark and small. But dh would have an office,
plus, he's got the garage and hewants a shed. I just want one room in
the house other than the living room to scrap in.

Oh and we have 2 adorable Bostons Einstein and Dixie. We rescued
Dixie from the family that posted her on CL.

I live to scrap. If it's a weekend chances are you'll find me at a crop.
Unless, I'm working.

That's why I do CM.
