Merry Little Christmas

Merry Little Christmas, originally uploaded by mardriggs.

Hi!

I created these cards for the Christmas Card Challenge for January on SCS.

The idea of this is great because it lets you get your cards done ahead of time rather then waiting til the last minute to make your cards.

Above is a picture of the set of cards that I made this month.

This is a picture of one of the cards.

You're so sweet

You're so sweet, originally uploaded by mardriggs.

Hi!

I created this adorable card for the 2s4y challenge - Laura's Sketch 18 and Sketches! Recipe Challenge #33.

I used some items that I hadn't really gotten a chance to play with yet. Like the cupcake holder. It's some paper that my mil gave me when I first started scrapping and I just never had a chance to use it because it's shimmer type of paper. The ribbon because I do cards more now and like to have them all look the same and I just don't have enough of the ribbon to make as many cards as I usually do.

The buttons were a gift from my Secret Santa and I just got my Glaze pens.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Studio G stamp
Paper: CM Cardstock White, Taffy, Cactus, Honeydew, Doodlebug Glitter Cupcake cardstock

Ink: Marvy Brush Marker No. 18 dark brow, Glaze pens by Sakura
Accessories: ribbon, SU! buttons

Sweet & Simple

Sweet & Simple, originally uploaded by mardriggs.

Hi!

I created this recipe card for the Stamp Something challenge this week which is to create something with or about recipes.

I'm a total lemonade-aholic. The best none homemade lemonade is Simply Lemonade. The best fast food place to get lemonade is Chick-fil-A. And this is the best recipe I have for making lemonade.

Whenever we have family that's gone somewhere to get fresh lemons right off the tree they always give them to me. Because like I said I'm a lemonade-aholic.

And it's a habit that I'm not going to give up.

It may be cold outside but go make some lemonade and it will give you a sunny feeling.

always & forever

always & forever, originally uploaded by mardriggs.

Hi!

This card was also created for the 2 Sketches for You Spring Design Team call.

This card is based off of Laura's DT Sketch.

It just came to me last night when I got home.

My previous card wasn't as well received by my dh or my SU! Demo.

But as most of my cards do inspiration hits me with the perfect combo.

Sometimes its hit or miss most of the time it's right on the money.

This time my dh loved the card. And he's a really creative individual himself. He's been published here in the States and Internationally. Plus, he's been on NPR and cable TV. Not for cards but definitely for his one of a kind creations.

Infact, the laptop I use to post this blog was won by my dh for a game that he created using a gaming engine. And his game is still being played by quite a lot of people.

I do have to thank my major in college for my being able to match the right papers, embellishments and stamps together. I was a Fashion Merchandising major.

As in fashion it's all about the accessories right?

Materials Used:
Stamps: Studio G stamp
Paper: CM Cardstock Cactus, White, Taffy, CTMH Designer paper

Ink: Marvy Brush Marker No. 18 dark brown
Accessories: CTMH flowers, ColorBox brads

Sending You My Love

Sending You My Love, originally uploaded by mardriggs.

Hi!

First let me apologize for no updates since Friday.

I was having a good scrappin' time in San Antonio, TX at a Shoebox Swap. My first one ever.

It was a lot of fun. Getting to meet people from SCS and creating some amazing cards.

I created this card for the 2 Sketches 4 You Spring Design Team call.

This card was created based off of Kazan's DT Sketch.

Can you guess where I got the tie back?

Would you believe it's a hair tie? Well, it is.

It's one of the thinner ones which I don't use any more due to my hair being to long to use it to tie my hair back.

Materials Used:
Stamps: SU! Circle of Friendship
Paper: designer paper, Archiver's card stock,CM Card stock Black, White

Ink: VersaColor VC-82 Black
Accessories: hair tie, Quickutz Heart

Getting ready for Valentines

Hi!

I decided I'd like to get the blog all dolled up for Valentine's.

It holds a special place in my heart because that's the day my dh proposed.

I know it's not that original but the way that he proposed was.

Hey he must have done something right we've been married almost 7 years.

Sorry about no post

Hi!

Sorry about no post yesterday. But I was very tired.

I had a Dentist appt yesterday to see about getting my root
canal done. Finally.

The Dentist was very nice but wasn't able to do the root canal
yesterday because I have an infection in that tooth now. Eek!
I know!

So now I'm on Vicodin, Motrin, and Amoxicillin. So now I'm all
drugged up.

Which is why I was too tired to post yesterday.

I promise to post at least one card today. I'll try for more.

Especially since I'm going to try and apply to join some Design
Teams that are being called right now.

FEB09VSN4 My Card Chest

FEB09VSN4 My Card Chest, originally uploaded by mardriggs.

Hi!

I created this Card Chest as part of the SCS Challenge to create a cedar chest to hold your cards in.

This was a fun challenge. I never thought of creating a box to house my cards in.

I used the A2 Card box instructions to create this box.

I do have a couple of boxes that I house them in, which are decorative but I never specifically created a box to house my cards in.

Materials Used:
Ink: Uniball Gel Impact, white
Accessories: CM Large & Small Heart shapemaker, Bazzill Basics Ribbon Black Dashed

One of a Kind

One of a Kind, originally uploaded by mardriggs.

Hi!

I really think this card is my most unique.

I created it for VSN on SCS.

I used the Sketch Challenge sk011709 sketch from Paper Craft Planet

I know it's kinda late but I was running errands yesterday and spending the day with family.

The challenge was to use The Four Somethings. You know when you get married they say you should have something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.

Something Old: CTMH Designer paper
Something New: I just bought this Fiskars threading water scalloped punch yesterday.
Something Borrowed (or given): my friend gave me that knitted flower. She knitted it herself.
Something Blue: CM Cardstock Royal Blue

I really do think that this card is one of a kind.

Materials Used:
Stamps: SU! One of a Kind
Paper: CM Cardstock Raspberry, Royal Blue, CTMH Designer paper
Ink: SU! Old Olive, Stazon Teal Blue, Cherry Pink
Accessories: Knitted flower, Fiskars Threading Water Scalloped punch

Love One Another

Love One Another, originally uploaded by mardriggs.

Here's another card for VSN.

The challenge was to show off what "I love to collect".

For me that's Precious Moments.

This is actually my only Precious Moments stamp. Most of my collection is Christmas ornaments (dh's choice because it's cheaper and has to be put away every year), snowglobes, dolls, books, wall decorations.

My mom has bought some of them for me. And dh even got me one as our wedding cake decoration, but not one of the topper ones, it's actually a figurine. He even went with me to pick it out.

So I really do like this challenge because it gave me the chance to use my Precious Moments stamp.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Stamp Affair PMI Love One Another
Paper: CM Cardstock White, Taffy, Pink Lemonade, Moda for Daisy D's - Lullaby Small Flowers Pink #14014

Box of Chocolates

Box of Chocolates, originally uploaded by mardriggs.

Hi!

I created this card for VSN tonight on SCS.

I bought this stamp last weekend after using it at an Amuse card making class I took. I think it's super cute.

I've had the designer paper since I went to an Archiver's crop last year but hadn't used it until now.

I used the SK011009 Challenge from Paper Craft Planet.

Materials Used:

Paper: KI Memories Pop Culture 2749 Dot Candy, CM Cardstock Raspberry

VSN Flirtation

Hi!

I created this card for the VSN Flirtation the challenge was "Cast away".

The challenge is to use scraps of paper to create a card, but it's to be smaller than traditional card size.

My card is 3 1/2x 5 1/2. Since, I only use CM cardstock and it comes in only 12x12 and 8x8. My cast away is bigger than normal scrapling size.

I just bought this stamp at JoAnn's in the $1 bin. I just can't pass up a cute stamp and you can't beat a $1.

I will definitely have some more cards up tomorrow through out the day for the VSN Crush. And next month is the actual VSN.

Materials Used:
Stamps: $1 Stamp from JoAnne's
Paper: CM Cardstock Taffy
Ink: VersaColor VC-82 Black
Techniques: Cutltlebug Swiss Dots Embossing folder

Be My Gothic Valentine

Hi!

Today on SCS the Limited Supply challenge was to create a Valentine that you could easily make for about 30 people or class-size like back in the days when we were in school and handed out Valentine's to everyone. We were limited to using white, red, pink, and black.

I have had this skull stamp since Halloween as well as the CM Halloween Shapemaker which is what I used to make the spiders. I didn't use the skull stamp for Halloween because I think it's too cute for Halloween.

I just recently bought the Be My Valentine Stamp.

My dh even helped me to design it.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Scrappy Cat -Sentiments of Love, Archiver's Hot Spot stamp
Paper: Archiver's red cardstock,CM Cardstock White, Black
Ink: VersaColor VC-82 Black, Marvy Brush Marker No. 89 persimmon
Techniques: Cutltlebug Swiss Dots Embossing folder, CM Halloween Shapemaker, CM Gemstone Custom Cutting System

Matt. 5:4

Hi!

I love this card. I created using the sketch challenge on SCS.

Also I was able to incorporate the Devine Design Bible Verse Challenge 09 too.

And use a stamp that's in my collection but hadn't gotten a chance to use it yet. So I'm able to actually fulfill one of my Resolutions for this year.

And use some designer paper that's been in my collection for a while. Not to mention the flowers, which I got from my CTMH Demo a while ago.

Also, since I can't find my specific tool to fray the paper I've been using my scissors and I actually like the way that it looks better.

Materials Used:

Keywords: BVC09 SC211 Matt 5:4
Stamps: Stampabilities Matthew 5:4 GR1015
Paper: CM Cardstock White, Brown, Taffy, Moda for Daisy D's - Lullaby Small Flowers Pink #14014

Just thinking of you

Hi!

Today's card is a pocket card - that is the challenge from Hero Arts blog.

It's distressed, has a tag, and 3 layers - that's the Recipe Challenge #31 on Sketches! OK so it's got more than 3 layers, but that was just the best way to make it look.

And the top of the pocket has a slider - that's what Challenge#12 is on DRS Designs.

I used a SU! ribbon slider and then flipped it over. Then I used SU! Stampin' Dimensionals on the back to help create the ribbon slide.

Materials Used:

Stamps:
Hero Arts C4572 Just Thinking of You
Paper:
CM Cardstock Pink Lemonade, CM Cardstock Brown, Anna Griffin designer paper
Ink: Scrappy Cat Chocolate Truffle
Accessories: ribbon, flower, brad, Hero Arts Pearls, SU! Stampin' Dimensionals, Prima Forever Flowers

Butterfly & Pearls

Hi!

I made this card based off of today's Featured Stamper on SCS.

Congrats to jaydekay for being the 101th Featured Stamper.

This is the card that I cased.
Simple Butterfly

I absolutely love my new Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.

I think it turned out pretty cute. Although I think my butterfly is definitely more simple than her butterfly. I wish I had the patience to color something that beautifully.

I'm trying my best to use all the stamps that I have especially the ones that I haven't used in a while.

I'm going to try to get rid of the stamps that I don't use probably closer to National Scrapbook Day. That way I give myself a chance to use what I've got. Especially since when I go to other blogs and see scrap rooms I can tell that I don't have nearly that many stamps and I definitely don't have as many as my mil. But since my scrap room right now is the living room I need to take up less space.

Materials Used:

Stamps:
CTMH Whimsical Wings
Paper:
CM Cardstock Taffy, CM Cardstock Brown, CM Cardstock White
Ink: Scrappy Cat Chocolate Truffle, SU! Pixie Pink
Accessories: ribbon, Hero Arts Pearls, SU! Scallop punch

It also goes along with the challenge that Hero Arts had this week.

It was also made for the SCS Limited Supplies challenge.

You were limited to use hearts in your design as well as the color red.

I added the flowers because they complement the designer paper that I used.

I also used the Creative Memories Bright pen set.

Filled with Love

Hi!

Good morning to all my readers.

Sorry, it's been crazy around here so this is the first chance that I've had to post.

I created this card using a sketch SC210 on SCS.

I really do love this Juntos designer paper by SU!

I created a Birthday card because both my dad and dh's dad have birthdays this month. And most of my other birthday cards are too girly. What can I say I love pink.

Also on Hero Arts Blog they had a challenge to use your Hero Arts stamps and layers to create.

I just love Hero Arts Stamps they're so awesome. And if you get the sets at Archiver's you can get them with bling too. Although, I didn't use the bling this time. It's because I made this card for our dad's and they're not that into bling.

Materials Used:

Stamps:
Hero Arts
Paper:
CM Cardstock White, Brown, Spiced Cider, SU! Juntos Designer Paper
Ink: SU! Old Olive

Love Love Love

Hi!

This is the card that I created for the SCS Hearts~Valentines~Love notes Swap.

It's a pretty simple card I know but I like it.

I got the sketch for this card from The Angel Company catalog.

I wish I actually knew someone that is an Angel Company Consultant because they have soooo many cute stamps in their catalog.

I was able to use one of my stamps that I had in my collection that I hadn't used before which was able to help me stay in line with my resolution.

I used the medium Circle pattern with the blue(white cardstock) and green(black cardstock) blades since I don't have that size of a punch.

And this is probably one of the most economical cards I've made ever.

Materials Used:
Stamps:
Studio G wood block that I bought in the Micheal's $1 bin
Paper: CM Cardstock White, Taffy and Black, SU! Designer Paper
Ink: VersaColor VC-82 Black
Accessories: brad (Target See Spot Save), Bazzill Basics Ribbon

Thank you for looking.

Hi!

I love this card and I think it fits with the time of the year that we are in because I think that all Holiday parties should cease for the December/January month.

Plus, it helps me to do one of my New Year's Resolutions which is to use my stamp sets.

I've had this set for a while but just hadn't actually gotten a chance to use it yet.

This card was made for the SCS FS Challenge.

This is the card that I cased.

Blog Candy

Hi!

I wanted to be sure to spread the word out about some amazing blog
candy that Starving Artistamps is giving.

You can go here to find out more on the details: Starving ArtiStamps

I want in on this and was sure that you guys might want in on it too.

My newest favorite stamp set is: Valentine Remix

I just love my Boston Terriers and stamps that feature Bostons. Which are super hard to find, cute stamps. The one I have my mil found and held for me cause she knew I would want it. I'll have to make a card to show you how cute it is. And the other one I have I bought at the Dell Children's Hospital when my niece was there after her appendix ruptured.

Well, off to go tell more people about this amazing blog candy.

Happy Thoughts

Hi!

Happy thoughts for a Happy New Year!

I created this card using a sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. They have some amazing sketches for both cards and page layouts.

I created this card last night while I was cropping.

It also falls in line with SCS Limited Supply Challenge 201 because it uses my favorite things cool colors, brads, flowers, and my acrylic stamps.

I love this paper which can only be found in the SU! Spanish catalog.

And I love how the happy reminds me of a smiley face.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Acrylic stamp set I bought at Archiver's

Paper: CM Cardstock Spiced Cider, SU! Designer Paper Juntos (in Spanish Catalog only)
Ink: SU! Old Olive
Accessories: Brads, CTMH flower - white, No.2 Forever Flowers - brown

This is the card that we made at my Demo DJ's house (she was hosting the crop). Isn't it cute.

I definitely will think about adding these stamp sets to my wish list.

Maybe the designer paper too.

I would give you all the materials list for this one if I knew it.

I just don't know the SU! catalog as well as I do the CM catalog.

Happy Thoughts.
