Forest Fir of Feature Friday

Angel in the Forest
Hi!

Today is Feature Friday and I'm using the Work It Wednesday technique.

Which is to Create a Scene with your cards.

I found this great trees stamp at Archiver's in the Clearance section. That section

was actually 75% off. Can't beat that with a stick.

And of course, the super cute digi is from The Character Cafe.

Stamps: The Characater Cafe, Northwoods Rubber Stamps, Inc.
Paper: Wausau paper, CM Cardstock White

Ink:
Copic E00 Skin White, W2 Warm Gray No.2, Bic Mark-it Forest Green, For-Ever Green, Desert Rose, Yellow Blaze, Lemon Bliss, Marvy Brush Marker No.18 Dark Brown, No.48 Leaf Green

Hello Human

Hello Human
Hi!

This little guy just had to pop out and say Hel'l'o.

I created this card for DH who is an über geek. And darn proud of it.

He's been featured in quite a few magazines here in the US and overseas.

We've won trips and prizes including the laptop I'm on right now thanks to his
geekiness.

I just googled him right now and he's got "Results of about 9,880 for zapwizard" and the majority of it is either from him or about him.

Anyway, I decided to make him a card because he's been working on his office so that
we can make the big switch and I can have an Office/Craftroom/Classroom.

Currently my office sits in the living room awaiting his completion of his office.

So I'm hoping we can get it all done soon so I can start scheduling things at home again.

It's been a while since I've scheduled a crop. And I'd love to have the group over.

We've got to make a trip to IKEA to purchase some things for my office, move one of the bookcases out of our bedroom, and YAY we purchased a shredder to help me get rid of the paperwork that's in our rooms. We keep so much because it has vital info even though we don't actually need it. Like account numbers and our SSNs.

I'll definitely have to take a picture when my office switching is complete. So you can take a look at my NEW Office/Craftroom/Classroom.

The stamp set is in The Angel Company catalog. It's perfect for making things for a little boy or a hubby. Do you have an TAC Angel? If not I'd love to help you feel free to contact me at cr8iveme_at_gmail.com

robots

And I used my Uniball Signo Silver Gel Impact pen to color this guy in. I think it makes him look more robotic.

Oh and I was at my friend Terrie Lynn's house when I created this card. We had a Christmas Shoebox Swap there. It was a small group of 11 but we got a lot done. And had time to chat and eat.

I like the idea of a smaller Shoebox Swap because that way you don't have to feel rushed. Actually, I arrived late to the Swap and was still done by the time another friend of ours got done who was there earlier then I was. And I had to bring out a couple of things to get one of the cards completed.

One of the gals had created a card sample but then switched the ribbon on us. Of course, I had the exact ribbon in my stash. ;)

Materials Used:
Stamps: TAC Robots
Paper: Wausau paper, CM Cardstock Brick, Love Elsie 2641 Roxie Bands

Ink:
Sharpies, Uniball Gel Impact Silver, Memento Tuxedo Black

Just buzzin' about Feature Friday

Just buzzin'
Hi!

I wanted to share with you one of the images from the new release from The Character Cafe.

Also have you visited the TCC blog. Well, there are a variety of interesting challenges posted every Work It Wednesday. This weeks challenge was to use stitching.

Usually I use my Bazzill Basics Paper In-Stitch'z Template. But since we're in the middle of switching offices I'm having trouble finding some of my supplies. So I had to go back to my good old trusting sewing kit and back to the basics a little on this card.

Hopefully, DH will help by getting his office packed soon.

This week there is a Guest Design Team member for TCC. Her name is Verda and her blog is
here. She's super talented. And you can catch her interview here.

Materials Used:
Stamps: The Character Cafe,
Paper: CM Cardstock White, Black, Wausau white

Ink:
Memento Tuxedo Black, Sharpie, Bic Mark-it Yellow Blaze, Moonstone Yellow, Stone Grey, Hot Aqua, Tranquil Teal

Accessories: CM Custom Cutting System Ovals, Crayola Glitter Glue, SU! Designer Buttons

Pucker up for MSB

Hi!

I just love this lipstick digi from MSB. It's part of the new release. That comes
out today.

I was trying to find just the right sentiment to go with it. And don't you know I
found it among my Studio G stamps. I just can't resist them. One of my fave spots
in the scrapbook store is the Hot Spot or Dollar Section whether it be at Archiver's,
JoAnne's, Micheal's, or Target. Where you can find these stamps for $1, well at least at
Micheal's and JoAnne's, Archiver's marks them up to their hot spot price of $1.99.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Modern Sugar Blvd, Studio G
Paper: Wausau paper, CM Cardstock White, Raspberry, Sandylion RMTSCB61 School Paper - Black Dots

Ink:
Sharpie, Copic RV13 Tender Pink, R35 Coral, Bic Markit Prairie Berry, Stone Grey, Fandango Pink, Rambunctious Red, Palette Hybrid Ink Noir Black, Uniball Gel Impact Silver

A Note For You

A Note For You
Hi!

Here is another card that I made using one of the wonderful images designed
by Tracey Malnofski, the artist that created this stamp for Squigglefly to work
with this image. I'm honored to do this for her. This image is not yet release.

Don't you think this little girl is super cute.

She'd make a great Teacher gift. Darn, sometimes I just wish we had kiddos so
I could do cool things like make Teacher gifts.

Oh, well right now I'm trying to get past the teething and potty stage with
Newton.
CIMG0888
This is a picture of Newton with a couple of his chew toys. We're still not
sure which one he prefers. I'm afraid it might be the laptop = /

Oh well he is cute though don't you think.

And it's funny I don't remember Einstein being like this as a puppy but then
when we were going through some of his puppy toys I did find a muzzle and
then I remembered that yup. He was once a bite-y puppy too.

This is Einstein on his 1st day home.
Not my present, but I'll help open it.
See he was into everything too.

Now he's a much more mellow dog. I think taking him on our road trip actually helped to mellow him out.

This is him waiting for our road trip.
Ready to go on vacation

I can't believe how fast he's grown up.

This is him in his carrier on the trip.
Let me out of here!

And this is a month after the trip.
Too big for his cage

But I'm digressing.

This is a mess that Einstein made when he was a bite-y puppy.
The Mess

Thank goodness he's past that phase.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Squigglefly
Paper: Wausau paper, CM Cardstock Brick, Sassafras Life is Beautiful "Fawd of you too"

Ink: Copics, Sharpies, Bic Mark-its, Sakura Glaze pen
Accessories: SU! Word Window punch, Modern Label punch

In case you'd like to know what namaste means. It's a term used in yoga and in various cultures.

***Warning: TMI about to happen. Read at your own risk. ***

I first heard the term in Philosophy class. Yes, I actually took a Philosophy class back in college. Never finished the class or college though, that was around the time I got engaged and then with my crazy mixed up life. Which is only now calmed down a bit. I got sick while planning the wedding, going to church (which when I was engaged was a lot of going to Institute classes if you're LDS you know what I mean), having a calling at church and working full-time. So sad to say but school got left at the wayside. Especially when you consider how short an engagement we had.

We met at Thanksgiving Dinner at Institute, went on our 1st date in December. Started dating more seriously after he got back from Christmas vacation. Got engaged on Valentine's Day and married June 8th that year. So I really only had roughly 4 months of wedding planning to do what it says in the books takes about a year to a year-and-a-half. Along with planning a wedding we had to furnish an apartment. OK, I never really lived in an apartment long enough to have my own furniture.

Basically, I crashed at my last boyfriend's (prior my dh) place or we both did at his mom's. And my first apartment with roommates was an utter nightmare from H-E-double hockey sticks. I didn't get to buy the groceries, so anything that I got my mom actually brought me from her work (she works in a kitchen). I think she purposefully tried to make sure there were enough leftovers for me. (Hey, her work would have thrown the food out otherwise.) Plus, my roommates smoked like chimneys and did IT all the time in the living room so I never felt comfortable leaving my room. And they never cleaned.

***Thank you. Now back to our regular scrap talk.***

Oh, and for the yin yang pendant that she's wearing I did that one myself.

Basically, I took my whole punch. It's the size you can find at any office supply store.

Punched it out of my leftover Wausau paper scrap.

Took my Uniball White pen and my CM Basic Fine Tip pen (Black) and drew a yin yang
on the scrap. The chord for her necklace is my Uniball Silver pen.

Easy as pie. And trust me pies only that easy when you aren't making your own crust.

Work It Wednesday

Happy Cupcake Day completed tut card

Hi!

I'm in charge of Work It Wednesday over at The Character Cafe blog.

The technique we will be trying out today is on how to use Liquid Applique on
your image.

This is a very fun technique and can be used not only on digital images but also on
any stamped image.

If you are a regular follower of my blog you know that I've already done a Video Tutorial on this previously. But last time I did it using a stamped image and this time I'm using a digi image.

Above is the Video Tutorial. I am also including a Scribd version of the Tutorial.

Liquid Applique Technique

And for some reason I'm still missing the mark on where to show the difference on the image and this way you can read it as well as see the difference between what the image looks like before it is completely heated.

Materials Used:
Stamps: TCC Cupcake Pewter, Amuse Clear Stamps Cupcake Set
Paper: Wausau paper, Doodlebug, CM cardstock Pink Lemonade, Honeydew

Ink:
Memento Tuxedo Black, Spica Silver, Copic R35 Coral, RV13 Tender Pink, Y02 Canary Yellow, Sharpie, Sakura Souffle, Bic Mark-it Pink Flamingo, Stone Grey, Cloud Nine Grey

Style

"The higher up you go, the more mistakes you're allowed. Right at the top, if you make enough of them, it's considered to be your style." ~Fred Astaire

I just got this quote today from A Fresh Perspective.

And I think it's so awesome. I just had to share it with you.

Time for a change

of look for the blog that is.

Me I haven't decided yet.

But my blog definitely needed one.

Although I loved the 4th of July background it has passed and so that
is my excuse for the change.

What do you think of the background for the blog?
I've used it before and there is another background that I like but that
would require doing a whole new makeover for the blog again. And I just
don't feel up to the challenge right now. I did try it as the blog currently is
however it just totally clashed.

So I'm just giving you fair warning now just in case I get daring enough to
do that.

Oh and before I forget I got this background at The Cutest Blog on the Block.

Sweet & Funky

Sweet & Funky
Hi!

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend.

This week's challenge over at Squigglefly blog is to use one embellishment and no layering on your card.

OK. So I cheated a little because I couldn't quite figure out how to create my own background for my Beach Girl so I just cut her out and put her together with this dp.

And my embellishment is actually 3 pieced together. 2 flowers and a brad.

This card reminds me of a fashion shoot or at least a magazine layout.

And it's Sweet & Funky because of the overall look and also those are some words on the dp.

So what do you think?

What is Beauty?

Swan Beauty
Hi!

I was asked by Tracey Malnofski, the artists that created this stamp for Squigglefly to work with this image. I'm honored to do this for her.

I just love this swan image it's so elegant and lovely. So I tried to make my card that way.

When I saw it I was reminded of Swan Lake and that's sort of the theme that I ran
with. Which is why I used this dp.

What do you think?

This image is available on the Squigglefly shop right now. Check it out here.

P.S. I forgot to mention that I created the sentiment myself. I was feeling inspired and didn't have that sentiment as a stamp.

What just got released at MSB?

Walk in the Park
Hi!

This stamp just got released. The card has been in my file for a while.

I tried to see if I had even posted it up but I can't find it if I did.

She's a very fun image to work with. And actually if I had it to do over now
the little dog would probably be colored to look like Newton our puppy.

His ears look like that and he has a tail. Although DH says that the dog in this stamp
looks more like a Scottish Terrier. And we don't really know what Newton is. He's a
mutt that we found at the vets office. We do know his mom was 3/4 Boxer. Not sure of
his dad. Actually, when we took him to the vet Friday she thought that his litter might
have multiple dads. Well, it will be interesting to see what Newton grows up to be.

Have you seen a pic of Newton?
Newtons First Day

Don't you think he looks a little like the dog on the card?
Well, I do. So maybe I'll go back to that image and try something different so that Newton's in the card.
