Help Us Help Them

Hi!
In the month of July, Squigglefly will be donating 50% of all sales in the "Animals" category to the ASPCA.
The ASPCA is a humane organization seeking to eliminate cruelty to animals by removing them from cruelty situations and finding them new, loving, forever homes.
This is one of the images in the "Animals" section.

Friendship Survives

Hi!
Today's challenge over at MSB blog is to do a Sketch Challenge.
Those are always my fave because you aren't limited by color. Just your imagination because with a sketch you can always adjust the size as long as everything is where it should be.
The top image is a new release and the bottom is one of my faves from MSB. And the sentiment is one that I created myself. Still have to figure out what sites are good for typing my own sentiment at. It's tough since I'm currently limited to the fonts on paint.net and Google documents.
Oh, also if you could please vote for me over at SouthernBellaFMS for July Featurebella. I'm Contestant# 3.

King of Pop is Dead
Hi!
I don't know if you heard or not but Micheal Jackson has passed. As a child
born in the late '70's and growing up in the '80's he had a lot of influence on
the music world in my lifetime.
This is a video with the late Micheal and his little sis Janet.
The pressure has now stopped for Micheal.
Rest in peace.
July Featurebella Contest

Hi!
Yay! The July Featurebella contest is finally up over at SouthernBellaFMS.
Please vote for #3. That's me.
Just in case my new logo is on the card.
Oh and because the voting was posted late they are moving the end of voting date to July 2nd.

Friday Showcase @ TCC Week 2

Hi!
It's Week 2 at The Character Cafe.
I think I'll probably try to shorten that to TCC or The Cafe in future posts.
This week we were challenged to use ribbon on our cards.
Since it's the Summer I'm trying to take it easy and not over exert myself
since we're experiencing a heat wave here in Central Texas. We've actually hit
a record with how many consecutive days we've been at over 100 degrees F
outside.
So I did use ribbon just not as much as some of the other girls on the DT.
But, I still think she's very cute.
Oh and if you're wondering where'd I find such small pearls I found them at
Micheal's. And they cost as much as the pearls that Hero Arts sells but these
come in 3 varying sizes as opposed to 2. So I get more bang for my $1.99 which
is nice.
I created this card to be for a birthday and decided I'd put the sentiment inside.
DH said all the card needs is a little Mario in the background.
Next week, on Wednesday 1 July, TCC will be launching the Work it Wednesday Challenge. One of the Design Team members will bring you a featured technique/theme and a challenge with a prize. I hope you will play along!
Also, be sure to go check out what the rest of the team did this week! >>>>

Look what's new at MSB
Hi!
It's release day over at MSB and I have just a taste of what's available.
You'll have to check the DT blogs to see the rest. It's under "the sugars" in the side bar. >>>>>>

I modified this book that I found at Micheal's it was on clearance and was previously $1. I
got it for 50 cents. Awful cute for 50 cents don't you think?

Lately, I just haven't had the right sentiment stamp or don't own the one I need, so I've been creating my own. Now if I could just figure out how to get the cuter fonts.
Happy Crafting.

Hi!
I really liked this challenge technique that I used on the card.
It's Challenge# 7 over at Squigglefly.
I got a chance to use this ribbon that I had bought a while back from the Target See
Spot Save section and of course, this image and the clouds are from Squigglefly. Actually,
the clouds are a FREEBIE on Squigglefly.
Sorry but I can't recall which exact colors I used I forgot to write them down. I will try to remember next time.

Happy Father's Day 2009

Hi!
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.
This is the card that I created for my dad and fil this year.
I just find it so hard to create a masculine card using the stamps that
I have. I'm going to try and see if sometime between now and next Father's Day
if I can find more masculine stamps that I like and can add to my collection.
I'm actually posting from my in-laws house just so that I'm sure to get around to posting
this. And I can't recall what colors I used to color this in. Sorry.

Cheater bow video
Hi!
I just found this great video on how to do bows while strolling through the blogosphere.
And just had to share with you. I know I should be working on Father's Day cards but I'm procrastinating.
It's tough since I'm not really into the whole masculine color scheme. But I've got to do better than I did last year. Which now that I've been concentrating more on card making I do hope that my cards turn out better than this.

This is last year's Father's Day card. The sentiment inside says Happy Father's Day.
The good thing about having 2 great dads
I know you might be thinking what about my bio dad. Well, we don't talk about him.
And Father's Day is certainly not the day we are going to do it. Only my REALLY
good friends know about bio dad and my immediate family. Like my side of the family
and my mil and fil. I don't even think dh's siblings know about my bio dad.
My poor mil and fil have actually had the misfortune of meeting bio dad. And let's just
put it this way my fil does not want bio dad to know where we are.
My poor loving mother still feels some kind of loyalty to bio dad and probably would tell
him where we are. Which I still don't quite understand.
Well off to create my Father's Day cards.
Happy Crafting.

Espresso-ly wonderful MSB

Hi!
This is definitely one of my favorite MSB images.
The challenge for Saturday over at MSB is a sketch challenge.
Yes! Those are my favorite types of challenges, that and recipe challenges.
And I finally got to use my Basic Grey paper pack. I'm not really a paper pad
type of person so this is actually a small pad, it's 6x6. I prefer 12x12. I got
the paper pad because I had been doing the Basic Grey blog challenges but realized
that I didn't have that much Basic Grey paper.
Also this sentiment is great don't you think? DRS Designs gave it to me for FREE
just for submitting a tip for their Tips and Tricks by You and Me segment.
Oh, I got a chance to use my new Sharpie markers. My only pet peeve with them is that
it does not say on them what color it is that I'm using. I can tell you that it is in their pack
of 25 markers.
You will find the sketch challenge here on Saturday. Also, if you're card gets picked you win 2 FREE digis of your choice. How cool is that?

The Character Cafe Blog Hop

Hi!
Welcome to the 1st Character Cafe Blog Hop.
It's our way of introducing not just the images but also the DT.
If you started the hop here you will definitely want to go back and
start at the beginning and make it all the way to the end.
Why you may ask? Well, because everyone along the hop with the
exception of me has a part of the key word that will get you a 50%
discount on The Character Cafe characters.
Now, you may wonder why don't I have part of the key word here. Well,
that's because I get to have our Freebie as a reward for everyone whose
made it this far along the hop.
So where do you start the hop? At the Cafe DT page.
Whose next on the hop? It's Heather.
Also, while your doing the blog hop be sure to leave a message on each blog because
in addition to the piece of the code that each person has. TCC is also giving away 3
FREE digis to someone on the hop but you have to leave a message on each blog.
Wait don't hop away yet. You forgot that I have a Freebie for you because you've made
it this far on the hop. And HERE it is.
Please make sure to leave some love on everyone's blog and if you like what you see you could become a Follower of the blogs.
If you haven't hopped away yet and are interested in my card. I created it using the Mojo Monday Week 91 sketch. They've got great sketches on their blog. It's definitely one of the places I go to when I need a card sketch.

Day in the Garden

Hi!
Well, unlike me this cute MSB loves to spend time in the garden. So she reminds
me of my mom or mil. They both love to spend time with their plants.
Me on the other hand I was totally born with a black thumb. It's so bad that my
dh is the one who has to water my bamboo.
I actually killed cactus. Not on purpose it's just I'm not good with any type of
plants.
The challenge today at MSB is to do a Business Envelope size card. Obviously,
I didn't do that. But it does seem like a fun challenge. Plus, if you participate in the challenge, the winner gets to pick 2 FREE Digis of their choice. How fun is that?
Mostly I didn't do it because all The Sugars were given this background stamp to use
on their card. And I've had this digi girl since Round 2 of the tryouts for MSB. And once I saw this background stamp and knew that my MSB It's a Garden Thing stamp just had to go in there.

Fresh Perspective for 6/12/09
"A wedding anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year." ~Paul Sweeney
I just got this quote this morning it's so funny and true. I just had to share.
I received this quote as one of my daily emails from A Fresh Perspective.
You should definitely check them out.
And yes, I know I still haven't called out my candy. I will be working on that
today and hope to have the winner by tomorrow if not sooner.

Howdy MSB!

Hi!
This sweet lil' gal is MSB's Precious Cowgirl.
I'm using her for the card challenge I'm doing over at the PCP MSB group. It's BINGO night tonight. That's right.
And I've been asked to help come up with one of the challenges tonight.
So what's the challenge I came up with?
It's a color challenge. I know if you read my blog regularly you probably read about how I dislike color challenges. Which is true. But I made this one so easy that anyone should be able to do it.
My challenge is to use RED, WHITE, and BLUE + a brad or 2.
Also, since it was my challenge I gave myself a couple of extra challenges to work on.
What are they?
- Well over at Pile it On, the challenge was to use a non-stamped sentiment. Which is why I used the Quickutz Sophia alpha set for my sentiment.
- I used the Card Sketch #99 over at Sketches! {by tamara}.
- And of course the challenge that I came up with for the MSB BINGO over at PCP.

Psalm 36:9

Hi!
This is the last image that I have to reveal for the big release that happens tomorrow over at MSB.
And don't forget that MSB's having a BINGO night to celebrate the new releases. What do you win in the BINGO? All the new release stamps of course. Get all the details here.
And I will even be providing a Challenge tomorrow night during BINGO. So you won't want to miss that.
For anyone that's curious I found the scripture quote through Google and cut and paste it to look just right. And the designer paper was in my scrap stash. I've had it since I started scrapping 4 years ago and don't recall who the designer is.

close-up #2

Hi!
It just dawned on me that my anniversary is coming up on June 8th and that weekend I know I'm not allowed to scrap.
It's sort of a deal between me and dh that we do our best to devote that whole anniversary weekend to each other.
And in the almost 7 years we've been married we've been pretty good about sticking to that.
So what does that mean for you. Well, that means that I'm going to be giving a little love back in the form of blog candy.
What's inside?
How do you get a chance to win the candy? I will give 3 chances to win for everyone.
1. Post a comment
2. Become a follower of my blog
3. Post about my candy on your blog
Oh, one other thing. Since my day job is at a UPS Store, I know how much it costs
to send things International. Plus, there's the whole customs issue of charging duties and fees, and trust me know one over here knows how much that is. And I have parents that are from the Philippines, so trust me it's not that I wouldn't want to ship International. You must be in the United States in order to win.
Happy Crafting.

I'm posting this card for 2 reasons.
- It's one of the adorable new digis being released by MSB

Just by spending a couple of hours with The Sugars playing BINGO. Get the details here.

Save The Date

Hi!
I just wanted to let you all know that I scheduled my 2nd ScrapPink crop.
ScrapPink is held the weekend of September 26-27, 2009.
No place scheduled to hold it as of yet. But I will keep you posted of where.
But until then leave a message to let me know if you'd be interested in attending and I can save a seat for you.
Remember that $10 of the fee goes directly to ScrapPink.
Last year's fee was $20. $10 went directly to ScrapPink and the rest was to cover the cost of materials for the 2 classes that were taught. We also did an auction for some
adorable pink goodies. The proceeds of which went entirely to ScrapPink. And we raised $110 for ScrapPink.
If you're interested in learning more about ScrapPink check it out here. The money that goes to ScrapPink goes directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. To learn more about that check it out here.
To learn more about ScrapPink and how it impacts the scrapping community. Watch the video here.

Why Digital?
Hi!
I saw this video on Hog Wild About Stamping.
And just had to post it because as you know I do use digi stamps.
However, I have friends that still haven't tried it out yet because
they are worried about cost.
This video does a comparison between digi and traditional stamps.
Happy Crafting.

BINGO!
Hi!
I thought that might get your attention.
Well, I don't know about you but I know my scrappin' hens do love a good
game of BINGO.
And as with every game of BINGO there's gotta be a prize.
So what am I talking about?
Modern Sugar Blvd is having their own BINGO night on Thursday, June 11th
and you won't want to miss it. And the jackpot for BINGO night is that you will
get all the new releases that MSB has.
I have a couple of the new releases as do other members of the Design Team but
whoever wins BINGO gets them all. How cool is that.
For the details go check out the MSB Blog.

Just ducky

Hi!
Isn't this card super sweet. I created it for the Squigglefly Challenge #5
which is to use SU! colors Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss.
Which was tough for me. I prefer to work with a sketch or a recipe but a color
challenge that's a lot tougher for me.
Have you seen the digis over at Squigglefly, they're just super cute.
Anyway, well although I do have SU! items in my scrapbook supplies. I don't
really have any of their cardstock and I just recently started purchasing
their designer paper.
So I had to make a trip over to Archiver's. It's a good thing that I have an eye
for making color matches. So in case you want to try this challenge and don't have
SU!s cardstock either, these are the colors that Archiver's has that matches
very closely to these colors
SU! Pacific Point = Archiver's Huckleberry
SU! Pink Pirouette = Archiver's Pink Lemonade
SU! Kiwi Kiss = Archiver's Olive
Materials Used:
Stamps: Squigglefly Sharing Lunch
Paper: Archiver's Cardstock Huckleberry, Olive, Pink Lemonade, Kelly Panacci Atomic Turquoise, Wausau Cardstock Ink: Copic E00 Skin White, R00 Pinkish White, R11 Pale Cherry Pink Accessories: Prima Marketing No.2 Forever Flowers, No. 5 Forever Flowers

Modern Sugar Bride

Hi!
Well, just in case you didn't know I'm not at my computer posting this today.
You see I myself was a Modern Sugar Bride and am taking the weekend off to be with my dh. It's our 7th Anniversary.
Believe me it's a miracle we've made it this far. And in honor of our Anniversary we always take the weekend off to just be together and go wherever we want for a mini vacation.
Unlike, this Modern Sugar Bride. I'm not a blond although I do act like one at times. And I wish I were that skinny. I haven't been that thin since High School.
This new digi stamp will be available sometime tomorrow the 6th.
You should definitely check out all the cards that the DT created and the challenge.
I actually got to be the one who came up with the challenge this time.
And of course, I knew what weekend this was so I just had to pick something wedding themed as the challenge. You know the old tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.
So here is my:
something old - the designer paper, I've had it forever, just never got around to using this sheet. But, I have used the other sheets in this designer paper series.
something new - the digi stamp from Modern Sugar Blvd, of course
something borrowed- OK. Since this is cardmaking it's kind of hard to borrow something. So really this part of the challenge is to use something that was given to you. In my case that would be the Polka dot designer paper, it was given to me by my mil.
something blue - well, I could not narrow it down to one specific blue thing so I have blue throughout my card. On the designer papers and the bride.
I challenge you to create something using these guidelines. And if you do use a Modern Sugar Blvd image you can post it onto the blog. I heard a rumor that the winner of the challenge gets 2 digi stamps of their choice.

Happy Crafting.
