Boo to you

Boo!

Did I scare you? Sorry.

So are you ready? You know for the trick-or-treaters.

Do you decorate your house or apartment? Or do you dress up?
We always decorate Halloween is DHs fave holiday. His birthday is tomorrow and he always says its like having 2 days for his birthday.

DH tries to dress up and have it match the theme he used to decorate. I'm not as into the holiday as he is well with the exception of the candy. ;)

Do you have kids or dogs you dress up? DH says I'm not allowed. Plus since they don't dress up any other time of the year our dogs don't really seem to like when I try to do it on Halloween.

Button Card

Hi!

Couldn't help but make this sweet little card for the HYCCT1225B Ta Ta Toe challenge. You see we
were to use this board like in Tic Tac Toe to design our card.

It was a really fun way to do a challenge.

Not a quitter

Hi!

I love chocolate even if its not good for my waistline. ;)

I stamped the image all over the card in a the Noir Black you can kind of making it out in the lighter
brighter sections of the card. And then I stamped the sentiment and placed it in the center. I hope you like it.

Just buzzing by

Hi!

Just buzzin' along today with a card that was created for HYCCT. I do really enjoy being able to create cards for this great cause. It's the least I can do. And I know it probably means a lot to the recipients. Just this year I was helping care for my mom in her struggle with Cervical Cancer. Taking her to Chemo Therapy and Radiation. Neither of which can be fun. That's why I'm glad I can create something fun for the patients going through this. 

Plus this was a fun challenge. We were to use five words in the sentiment.

I do have to admit that I included a sixth word inside the card. Which is "hi" which is sort of
peeking through the card. But I don't think you can see it because it's cut in black and the hexagon next to it is also cut out of black card stock.

One of a kind

Hi!

Today's card was created for HYCCT. I really love being able to create cards for this great cause.

It was a fun challenge. We were to use the letters to help create our card by using an element for each letter.

These are the ones that I used.
H = Hexagons
Y = You Are One of a Kind (sentiment)
C = Chocolate ink (stamped sentiment in)
C = Chevrons
T = Ticket (die cut) and (bakers) Twine

Vintage Santa

Hi!

I created this card for an only Santa cards swap. I posted the first card last week and this is my 2nd card for the swap.

I just love this Vintage Santa stamp. He looks so jolly and reminds me of my Great-grandma King. She was the great matriarch of our family and raised not only 4 children (one of which was my Grandma) but after my Grandma needed to be sent to a home. She even raised my father and 2 of his sisters.

She was also a poet. I don't remember if she was ever published but she did write some wonderful poems.  She had the kindest heart and had so many great stories.

I hope I take after her. I loved writing poetry when I was younger and I love to be creative.

Merry Christmas

Hi!

I know it's not even Halloween yet and here I am posting a Christmas card. I promise I'll make some other cards too.

But I just wanted to share this cool card I created for a card swap on SCS. The card swap is all about Santa Claus. I signed up for 2 spots. So there's one more Santa card coming. But I thought this one was super cute and made for a creative card. Also part of the swap is to use use 2 layers and 1 embellishment.

I used this fun red twill ribbon I found in my ribbon stash. I thought it was super cool.

The red I used for Santa and his hat is an awesome color but a pain to use. It's one of the few ColorBox inks that I have and it's SUPER juicy. I mean I've had this for at least 2 years and it's still all juicy and so I have to wait what seems like FOREVER for it to dry before I do anything around it.

Hello Kitty

Hi!

I don't know about you but for me it's all about Hello Kitty.

She's got the style and personality. Plus she comes with the best accessories.

I created her for one of the HYCCT Challenges. Specifically "Show me what Your made of" ,
not literally of course. Just in terms of what your style is or what makes you most happy.
For me that what have to be
  • Ms. Kitty here. 
  • pendants 
  • and of course the color PINK
I'm a girly girl at heart and my inner child controls a lot of what I do craft wise. The only other thing I would probably say is my favorite medium to color with is my Sharpies or Bic Mark-its and when I get a chance to my Copics of course.

Ms. Kitty used nothing but my scraps and I did get to use Sharpies on my sentiment here.

Take Three

Hi!

I created this card for one of the HYCCT challenges. Specifically HYCCT1206: 3 dies/punches and a sentiment.

I had a lot of fun with this challenge for a couple of reasons:
  • got to CASE one of my own cards
  • was able to use some of my NEW Martha Stewart punches along with two other punches
  • and was able to create these for such a wonderful cause

Pink presents

Hi!

I created this shape card for one of the HYCCT challenges. The challenge
was to create a Ship Shape card. Well really just a shape card. 

I couldn't help myself. You've got to remember to Save the Tatas.

The materials used for this card are all from my personal stash of scraps, buttons, and flowers. Which sadly means I can't recall who actually created these pieces. Although I do think the DSP might be from SU!

Inside I stamped "Nothing tickles me pink like presents", which is a stamp set from TAC. Which sadly means the only reliable options for finding it is possibly EBay.

Allegro Grandioso

Hi!

 I love making scenes with my stamps. I think it's one of my most favorite things to do. And I love my Unity stamps and Martha Stewart punches.

I created this card for a couple of challenges:
Part of the challenge from Unity Stamps is to not use any other stamps but theirs. And for
the HYCCT1213 challenge you are to reference this poem:
Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul
and sings the tune without the words
and never stops at all.


I used the Martha Stewart punch for the "thing with feathers"  in the poem and also for my Things in the Air for the Unity challenge. I also drew some birds flying off in the distance using my Sharpie.

Sadly Card Positioning Systems is retiring the blog. I love that blog. I've used quite a lot of their sketches in the past. So I couldn't let them leave without creating a good-bye card.

Happy Halloween

Hi!

I created today's card for the Hope You Can Cling To which was The Monster Mash

This is such a great cause to send cards to Cancer patients and their families. Being part of
a family with a history of cancer on both my folks side and my DH's family too. I consider
this doing my part to help support others in the situation that my family's been in as early as this
past Spring. Thank Our Father my mom is in remission for Cervical Cancer.

Running errands

Hi!

No real post today. I'm out running errands. Like this:
Yep. I was able to send off almost 200 cards to OWH. Don't forget to thank a hero.

Now, of course I didn't make all of these in the last couple of days although it feels like I did remake quite a lot of them. You see, they all had to be labeled with Operation Write Home on the back some of which were hand written and others I went into Paint.net and typed up a label. I am waiting for a stamp from  OWH to come in soon.

Also the darker colored cards needed white cardstock inserts. I hope to send more soon.

This box had about 30 Christmas cards which couldn't wait to be sent. You see unlike us who can wait to make or even buy(which I haven't done in over 7 years) your Christmas cards, our heroes are busy defending and protecting to run out to the local Hallmark (or whatever they have in the country they are in). Plus the other cards are a good variety of cards for the heroes to send back home.

I also ran a couple of other errands plus it RAINED. I know if you don't live in the Austin, TX area you might not realize just how exciting that is for us. But trust me it's almost but not quite as infrequent as snow is over here. The last time I think we had snow was like 7 years ago. And trust me I understand what snow is and how much fun it can be since I've visited Utah. As for rain just last year we had all kinds of crazy wildfires some as far as just 15 miles away from my home. Of course, the year before we were flooded in my neighborhood and couldn't leave cause we live on the top of the hill and both exits out of our section were flooded. So rain is awesome and scary at the same time.

Be known

Hi!

I hope you are having a wonderful week. I know it's only Tuesday but that seems to be when DH's week starts to get worse. So I hope you aren't as stressed at work.

I created this card for my local scrapbook groups monthly card swap. This month's theme was to use a "Quote". This stamp has been in my collection for a while but had yet to be inked. Can you imagine?

For the edges I used my sponge and just sort of swirled the color into the cardstock. I don't know if that makes sense. I didn't add any embellishments as I kinda like the CAS style. Well, with the exception of the clean part. ;) The card stock is from my collection given to me by my dear MIL. She gave me so much card stock, I don't know if I'll ever run out.

World Card Making Day Hop

The best things

Hi!

I created today's card during VSN on SCS.

I love VSN I wish I'd had a chance to play more. Well maybe I can play more
this month as over on SCS they're doing Hope You Can Cling To.

It's in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And remember ladies
if we don't take care of ourselves no one else will. We've got to protect the tatas.

We don't have a history of Breast Cancer on my side of the family although we do have
a history of Cervical Cancer on my mom's. Plus my dad's side of the family has Brain Cancer and my DH's side has a history of Prostate Cancer. So at least there's a bright side to us not being able to conceive as our child will hopefully come from a better medical family history.

I do hope to be able to share with you some of the cards that I get to create for HYCCT, but until
then this is the final card from VSN on SCS.

Miss you

Hi!

Yesterday was my nephew David Anthony's 16th Birthday. Although we couldn't be
with him and since my SIL and niece's numbers are blocked by my step-brother, his dad,
I was able to get a hold of him. So we called to wish him a Happy Birthday from my
iPhone.

He's such a good kid. I really miss him A LOT. And I can't believe
he's already 16. Wow time sure does fly.

I remember when he was born. He was early and so he had to go into the NICU. But
boy if you looked at him now you would never think it. He's SOOOOO tall. My step-brother
and his ex-wife my SIL are really tall. And so is his sister my niece.

I'm not that way at all. I'm the one in our family pics with mom and step-dad that doesn't look like she's supposed to be there at all. I'm the palest person in my immediate family. You'd think what is that lady doing in that family's pic. But yep. That's my family.

I'll have to see if I can find a picture with us all together. Which would probably be really old since either I'm almost never there when my family takes a picture together or my step-bro isn't there since he moved to New Mexico. 

At least in DH's family there are enough different people that when we take a BIG family pic we all look like we belong. Plus, it's kind of cool to stand out in DH's family pics as he's the baby of 6 and EVERYONE except for us has kiddos.

I created this card during VSN on SCS but I think it really does reflect

It's been a while since I've offered any up and I've been organizing my office. I hope to be able to share some pictures with you soon of how it looks. However, I'm waiting on DH to finish with his garage before I can even start on my office. Well, we sort of started we have everything that's going in it already it's just not in there yet. We've got to move some book cases out of my office and into DH's garage, and then build furniture for my office.

I've already had a few people ask if I teach classes. Which I'm dieing to do but since our house isn't that big I'd really like to get my office done first. So I have some room in there and perhaps we can use the kitchen and living room too. If my class gets that big. ;)
