Bonjour Garden

Hi!

I created this card for the Taylored Expressions Last Card Standing Wild Card Spot. And this is what you had to do for the challenge:

Who is your very best friend?Create a card for that person (or pet!) that you rely on most and show us how much he or she means to you. Friendship is your challenge theme and your card must follow these requirements:
~a NEW, never before published (in print or online) card

I came up with this design on my own. I really wanted to get a chance to use my "scary scissors" and was able to use my Martha Stewart colored pencils (those things really scare me).
~feature the theme of Friendship

I created this card for my sweet dog Sammie. She's my best friend. She sits with me when I cry and is so happy to see me anytime of the day. And she barks the loudest to protect me.

Isn't she adorable?
~use at least 1 Taylored Expressions stamp
I used the FREE digis that Taylored Expressions provided for the contestants
~use 2 or more patterned papers

I got the cloud paper while I was at CKC San Marcos. And the flowers and grass our from a retired Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper packet.
~use ribbon

I used some Stampin' Up ribbon for the flower stems.
~please include a full supply list (item and manufacturer) with your entry

Below you will see the supplies I used.
~Your card will be judged by our Celebrity Judges on overall appearance, creativity, execution, and conformity to theme.

Wish me luck. I'd really love to have a chance to compete in this.

Curl up with a good book

Hi!

Do you ever have one of those days where you just want to curl up with a good book? Today's one of those for me.

I had a chance to play along with the VSN over at SCS this past weekend.

One of the challenges was to make a bookmark. I will try to post a tutorial on how to do it a little later. For my bookmark I used CTMH Scholastic Paper Packet, it can be found in my CTMH shop.

The book that is being bookmarked below is Twilight, Twilight: Eclipse to be exact. I just love the Twilight series!! I can't wait til Breaking Dawn II comes out. Already have tickets. My ex-sister-in-law bought them for us already. We even have our seats reserved. Sweet!
Paper: CTMH Scholastic Paper Packet
Also my dog Newton wanted to say "Hello!"

He's the cutest little guy. See he's trying to stay still but his tail has a mind of it's own.

Did you know this week is National Dog week. I'll try to see if any of my other fur babies want to take a picture and share with y'all.

The Swipe Hype

Hi!

Have you heard the hype?
“The Swipe Hype” features the swiping stamping technique. With stamp swiping, you can add texture, distressing, movement, and motion to your products.

If you are interested in practicing this technique we can practice at a one-on-one class or a home gathering at your home or in my studio. We could even do a Skype class if you are interested. If you would like to practice on your own with some Close to my Heart stamps of your choice. You can shop for them at cr8iveme.ctmh.com

CKC Goodies

Hi!

I wanted to share with you the awesome goodies I picked up while at CKC San Marcos.

When I bought the SEI packs they were buy 2 get 1 FREE. The other pack was from The Paper Loft.
Can  never have enough paper. Especially at 5 for $1 and 4 for $1. Yes, I even splurged a bit and got some at 51 cents a sheet but that was only like 8 sheets.
Have had these on my wishlist a while
Scary scissors. My friend Steph joked that she wouldn't let me in the car with these.
These are super cool. And I got all 3 bottles for just $12.
Got the die cuts for like $10 a piece. The hexagon ones were just a bit more I think I got them for like $14.
Cutest spools of baker's twin and just $2 a piece for 10 yards.

Sadly, I didn't find any cloud die cuts or cloud punches. Mostly they didn't have any in the same price range as the other die cuts I purchased.

Last of the CKC 2012 Pics

Hi!

I hope y'all are enjoying the pics from CKC 2012 San Marcos.

As you can tell by now I'm better suited at taking pics of objects that don't move and even better when I'm not moving either. LOL

But I thought that if you don't have a chance to attend the best I could do was make an attempt to share some pics with y'all.

Tomorrow I'll post pics of the goodies I picked up while I was there. I tried to be really good and only get the things on my wish list. Sadly I didn't see any cloud punches or die cuts while I was there, so I'm still on the hunt for those.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some pics from CKC  San Marcos 2012. I definitely recommend attending a CKC event if it's in your area.
