Death by Chocolate

Hi!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. And actually the next couple of posts may or may not be new craft projects.

My life is really crazy right now. And my emotions are ALL over the place.

Since the beginning of the year, I was given a calling as a Sunday School Teacher for the 4 year olds in my Ward. Then I was given a Visiting Teaching route, I haven't had one of those in a couple of years and the sisters on my route are really knowledgeable, so I'm kind of intimidated by them.

Then in my regular life, I've got school, which is going well. I made it as a Finalist in Sizzix's Who Are You? contest. And, I'm a housewife and mom to our three dogs, which means I'm definitely not bored.

And then, there's my family life, not my home life with my DH, but the family I was born into. My step-brother, which some people seem to be confused about. If this is something that confuses you, basically, he's my brother. He's been diagnosed with Leukemia (Stage 4) and throat cancer. He's not going to undergo any treatments, (his decision) and had has 2 months left.

With all this craziness my blog has been lacking in content. So I will attempt to fix that when I am able to.

For today's posting I'm going to share a card that I made for HYCCT (Hope You Can Cling To), which is something that an online crafting community I belong to hosts every October, to help raise awareness and donate cards to the Cancer patients at MD Andersen in Houston, TX.

Personally, if I had to choose the way I would die, it would have to be by chocolate. ;)

If you would like to purchase any of the items you see here. Most of them can be purchased at my CTMH shop.

Happy Thanksgiving 2012

Hi!

Hope y'all are having a Happy Thanksgiving!!! Do y'all do turkey or ham? We do both, my folks make everything: turkey, ham, egg rolls(we're Filipino), deviled eggs, pies (pecan and pumpkin for DH), rolls, plus all the traditional fixings. DH's folks are more traditional. They're American, MIL even can tell you how far as she has a degree in Genealogy.

Do you go to your folks house, your DH or significant others folks house, or does everyone come to your house? We had everyone at our house once. It was a logistical nightmare. Plus, I tried to go all Martha Stewart and make the fixings from scratch. DH was like you should have just opened the cans. Didn't even say "Thank you" for all my hard work. So let me just say I'm not planning to do that again for a LONG, LONG time.

Do y'all dress up? We only did our first Thanksgiving as a couple. DH's family had Thanksgiving dinner in Idaho. Which was cool. Except we had to carpool with his folks(all the way from Texas) and then you have to realize he's the baby of 6 and almost everyone at that time had kids (just his 3rd sister and her DH and us didn't).

Now we're the only ones that don't. We've got to save up as Adoption vs. IVF is basically the same financially.

So for our first Thanksgiving my DH's aunt had sewn little hats and collars for everyone. We were all to wear black shirts so we would look like Pilgrims. Yes, you heard right I said Pilgrims. Let's just say DH was not having any of that. And mind you it was my FIRST Thanksgiving as a WIFE in a new family. So I went along with it and tried to talk DH into going along too. Let's just say when it comes to DH and his family I don't try to put my nose where it doesn't belong.

It breaks my heart ...

Hi!

It breaks my heart to say this but I'm in the process
of trying to find a new home for our little Boston girl
Dixie.

CIMG0202

She's super sweet and cute. She's neutered and needs a
lot more love and attention then dh and I are able to give
right now.

I think she needs someone who can be at home with her
on a 24/7 basis. And that's just not something dh and I
can do right now.

Happy Crafting.
