Thankful for Friends of Faith Blog Hop

Welcome to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine's A Faith Perspective Thankful for Friends Faith Blog Hop.

Today, we're out in force on the internet -- showing our faith and giving the glory to God. United, we stand as Christian paper crafters and blog owners to make a presence on the internet for all to see.

We're celebrating the theme of friends and we're happy to share our projects with you based on the verse:
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. " Ecc4:9-10a

If you're just joining in on the fun, you can find the start of the train here: http://www.scrapbooknewsandreview.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=100783.

First, we would like to take a moment to thank our generous co-sponsors: Layers of Color Stamps, Gina K Designs Stamps and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Together with Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, these companies have donated some wonderful prizes for today's blog hop.

All entries must be received by Monday, November 16, 2009 at 12 noon, EST and three winners will be randomly chosen to win.

Hi!

I just love this lipstick digi from MSB. It's part of the new release. That comes
out today.

I was trying to find just the right sentiment to go with it. And don't you know I
found it among my Studio G stamps. I just can't resist them. One of my fave spots
in the scrapbook store is the Hot Spot or Dollar Section whether it be at Archiver's,
JoAnne's, Micheal's, or Target. Where you can find these stamps for $1, well at least at
Micheal's and JoAnne's, Archiver's marks them up to their hot spot price of $1.99.

Stamps: Modern Sugar Blvd, Studio G
Paper: Wausau paper, CM Cardstock White, Raspberry, Sandylion RMTSCB61 School Paper - Black Dots

What just got released at MSB?

Walk in the Park
Hi!

This stamp just got released. The card has been in my file for a while.

I tried to see if I had even posted it up but I can't find it if I did.

She's a very fun image to work with. And actually if I had it to do over now
the little dog would probably be colored to look like Newton our puppy.

His ears look like that and he has a tail. Although DH says that the dog in this stamp
looks more like a Scottish Terrier. And we don't really know what Newton is. He's a
mutt that we found at the vets office. We do know his mom was 3/4 Boxer. Not sure of
his dad. Actually, when we took him to the vet Friday she thought that his litter might
have multiple dads. Well, it will be interesting to see what Newton grows up to be.

Have you seen a pic of Newton?
Newtons First Day

Don't you think he looks a little like the dog on the card?
Well, I do. So maybe I'll go back to that image and try something different so that Newton's in the card.

Happy Crafting.

Espresso-ly wonderful MSB

espresso-ly wonderful msb

Hi!

This is definitely one of my favorite MSB images.

The challenge for Saturday over at MSB is a sketch challenge.

Yes! Those are my favorite types of challenges, that and recipe challenges.

And I finally got to use my Basic Grey paper pack. I'm not really a paper pad
type of person so this is actually a small pad, it's 6x6. I prefer 12x12. I got
the paper pad because I had been doing the Basic Grey blog challenges but realized
that I didn't have that much Basic Grey paper.

Also this sentiment is great don't you think? DRS Designs gave it to me for FREE
just for submitting a tip for their Tips and Tricks by You and Me segment.

Oh, I got a chance to use my new Sharpie markers. My only pet peeve with them is that
it does not say on them what color it is that I'm using. I can tell you that it is in their pack
of 25 markers.

You will find the sketch challenge here on Saturday. Also, if you're card gets picked you win 2 FREE digis of your choice. How cool is that?

Materials Used:
Stamps: MSB Precious Coffee Shop, DRS Designs
Paper: CM Cardstock Honeydew, Cactus, Raspberry, Basic Grey Sultry

Ink: Copic R00 Pinkish White, R11 Pale Cherry Pink, E00 Skin White, BV04 Blue Berry, Bic Mark-it Petal Pink, Desert Rose, Honey Brown, Prairie Berry, Lime Sorbet, Margarita Green, Woodsy Brown, Midnight Navy, Sharpie

Howdy MSB!

Howdy MSB
Hi!

This sweet lil' gal is MSB's Precious Cowgirl.

I'm using her for the card challenge I'm doing over at the PCP MSB group. It's BINGO night tonight. That's right.

And I've been asked to help come up with one of the challenges tonight.

So what's the challenge I came up with?

It's a color challenge. I know if you read my blog regularly you probably read about how I dislike color challenges. Which is true. But I made this one so easy that anyone should be able to do it.

My challenge is to use RED, WHITE, and BLUE + a brad or 2.

Also, since it was my challenge I gave myself a couple of extra challenges to work on.

What are they?

  1. Well over at Pile it On, the challenge was to use a non-stamped sentiment. Which is why I used the Quickutz Sophia alpha set for my sentiment.
  2. I used the Card Sketch #99 over at Sketches! {by tamara}.
  3. And of course the challenge that I came up with for the MSB BINGO over at PCP.
The last challenge won't be posted until 9PM CST tonight.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Modern Sugar Blvd Precious Cowgirl
Paper: Wausau paper, CM Cardstock White, Royal Blue, Creative Imaginations Samantha Walker

Ink:
Copic R00 Pinkish White, E00 Skin White, R11 Pale Cherry Pink, R35 Coral, BV04 Blue Berry , Bic Mark-it Lemon Bliss, Yellow Blaze, Midnight Navy, Honey Brown, Woodsy Brown, Tiki Hut Tan, Rambunctious Red, Sharpie

MSB Seussical Boots & Challenge #4

MSB Seussical Boots
Hi!

It's Saturday and you know what that means.

There's a challenge on the MSB blog.

This time the DT was challenged to use this stamp of the garden/rain boots.

The boots look so whimsical it reminded me of Dr. Seuss so that's how
I colored them and picked out the designer paper to go with it.

Plus, that's not the only thing going on over at MSB today.

It's also release day. There are so many new digis being released today it will make your head spin.

I will post about that a little later as I have to get ready for work.

I know on a Saturday? Most of you are probably still in bed or wish you were.

Oh, and don't forget if you haven't VOTEd for Featurebella over at SouthernBellaFMS. I'm Contestant# 6. Today is your last chance. It's the American Idol of the stamping world right now and every vote counts.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Modern Sugar Blvd
Paper: SU!, CM White Cardstock

Ink:
Bic Mark-it Sunset Orange, Fandango Pink, Key Lime, Summer Melon, Hot Aqua

Special Thanks

Hi!

Today is Memorial Day and I've been following an amazing Blog Hop to help get more
people to send out cards and make donations to Cards For Heroes.

To follow the hop start HERE.

It's so inspiring that I too made a card for the troops.

Special Thanks GI

This will be one of the Any Hero cards that I send. Well, except that it's obviously
more aimed for a female soldier.

I remember back when I was in Junior High they had all the kids whose parents
had served come and speak to our school at a special assembly to Honor our
Heroes. My bio dad and mom were still together back then and so I asked him to
attend the assembly. Back when I was a child they had us do things that you don't
see in schools anymore like every morning we would say the Pledge of Allegiance.

I'm not saying that all the things that happened back then were good but I do wish
my niece and nephew could do some of the things that we did back when I was
there age, like saying the Pledge.

Almost all the men in my family have served our nation. My bio dad was in the Navy,
my step-dad's brother retired from the Air Force, my bio dad's brothers all served in
the military in one branch or another. My father-in-law served and currently my
brother-in-law serves in the Air Force.

So I encourage you to please take some time today to either visit the blog hop or just
to write a note on the Cards for Heroes Cbox.

And if you feel inspired to send cards or make a donation to Cards for Heroes.

Our troops do so much for us that's the least we can do.

The Simply G.I. Jane stamp that I used is a digi stamp created by Modern Sugar Blvd.
You can find her here, if you'd like to make a card for your special soldier or cards for Cards for Heroes. Right now MSB is having a Blog Candy contest, which I am submitting this card to.

And the sentiment is by Hero Arts. Which is one of the blogs on the main hop.

**People have been asking about the designer paper. I actually got this a while ago
back when
I first started scrapbooking. So I don't recall who made it but when I was
looking through my
scraps I found it and just thought it would be perfect for this card.**

Materials Used:
Stamps: Modern Sugar Blvd G.I. Jane, Hero Arts
Paper: CM Cardstock White, Royal Blue, Wausau Bright White

Ink: VersaColor 82 Black, Copic E00 Skin White, R11 Pale Cherry Pink, Bic Mark-it Tiki Hut Tan, Honey Brown, Adobe Orange, Blue Skies Blue, Moonstone Yellow, Rambunctious Red

Accessories: Colorbok Metal Dots
