1 Corinthians 13:8

Hi!

What with school starting in ten days for me. And juggling three design teams I'm trying to get caught up before I get bogged down with exams and holidays. Plus, for me it's been almost eleven years since I've been a student so I want to be sure to fulfill all my commitments.

I will try my best to continue to bring the same great content y'all have come to expect from my blog.

Today, I'm so happy to be able to share with y'all this weeks wonderful sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Here is the sketch, which was created by Anna-Carin.
The minute I saw this sketch the idea of quilts came to mind. As you can tell by my version of this design.

Paper: My Mind's Eye Quilting Bee
Ink: CTMH Archival Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Inverted Scalloped Square SM, Square Swatches
As I was working on this card I had a couple of errors happen. And with all that's going on in my life I just felt as though this was not just the best sentiment for this card but for this portion of my life at this time.

I'm not saying that my life is any more or less need of God's love. Compared to last year things are looking really bright and cheerful. Just a bit busier then normal. But that's a good thing I think.

I hope y'all are doing well and that God is shining his love down upon you.

Happy crafting,
M.E.

Sweet 16

Hi!

I hope y'all have had a great weekend. I know some of you are probably enjoying a three day or four day weekend.

It's been a busy one for me.

Friday I went to a party which I will share a card that was inspired by it, later. And Saturday we celebrated my niece Alyssa's Sweet 16.

It was pretty low key. Family and friends were in attendance. As far as gifts go since she's a sixteen year old girl, she pretty much just wanted money.

This is my niece with her boyfriend. Don't they look so cute together.
And this is the card I created for her.

Paper: Basic Grey Sultry
Ink: CTMH Chocolate
Accessories: Bazzill Basics Ribbon Brown Dashed, Offray Sheerly Yours, QuicKutz Emily die cut, Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles SM, CM Custom Cutting System Circles, Tim Holtz Sewing Room
The other items used to create this card are an acrylic $1 stamp set. I bought it back when you could still get acrylic stamps at that price. And the skirt is made of flowers from my stash.

My hubby liked it because it reminded him of a ballerina tutu. And my niece thought it was beautiful.

What do you think?

Happy Crafting,
M.E.

Fun Fun Fun

Hi!

When I found this embossing folder in the Hobby Lobby Clearance section I just knew it was perfect for this stamp set from Unity Stamps.

Which is good because I've had the stamp set for a while now.

I entered this card into the Facebook group Unity {Show & Tell} - Itty Bitty a Day contest.

None of my cards have been picked to win but hey, at least I've been able to make good use of my Unity stamps.

Stamps: Unity Stamp Company GOOD TIMES all around
Paper: CTMH Cranberry, White Daisy
Ink: CTMH Archival Black, Crystal Blue
Accessories: The Crafter's Workshop 6x6 Template, Spellbinders Shapeabilities Ribbon Banners LG, The Paper Studio Tickets, CTMH Piercing Tool Kit, Round Sponge
I hope your week is going well.

Happy Crafting,

A Chocolate Affair Blog Hop

Welcome to our August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

This month's stamp from Close to My Heart is "A Chocolate Affair" and is available exclusively through your Close to My Heart consultant from August 1 - 30, 2013.

This month, you can receive this stamp set for FREE with a qualifying purchase.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create. If y'all came from Connie's blog - Connie Creates 2 then you are in the right place!

As the SOTM is A Chocolate Affair I was inspired to create a candy drawer box. I got the die cut to create this box during Sizzix's 4th of July Sale, when they marked down what seemed like their entire site to 75% off. And the pretty pink ribbon is recycled from a Victoria's Secret bag.

Stamps: CTMH A Chocolate Affair
Paper: CTMH For Always Paper Packet
Ink: CTMH Archival Black
Accessories: Sizzix Candy Drawer Box, Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circles SM

Home with you

Hi!

Yay! My dear hubby is FINALLY home. He's been in China for a month.

So this card truly does express how I feel about him.

This was the longest business trip he's taken in the eleven years we've been married. And I certainly hope that he doesn't have to go on any for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

I created this card using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #15 as inspiration.

Of course, being that it's my card I couldn't just limit myself to the sketch. To me it just felt like it needed something more.

Stamps: CTMH Home Sweet Home
Paper: My Mind's Eye On The Bright Side Two
Ink: CTMH White Daisy
Accessories: Spellbinders Media Mixage Houses One, White Detail embossing powder, CM Corner rounder
What do you think of my card?

Do you or your significant other spend a lot of time apart?

Happy Crafting,
M.E.

P.S. The embossing on this card was done using white detail embossing powder I got from my MIL. I've got so many of my cardstock, embellishments, and embossing powders from her store.

Thank goodness I've got my CTMH shop. Otherwise I don't know what I'd do.

Hello Mr. Robot-o

Hi!

I had a lot of fun with this week's sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

The sketch was really cute. But as you can tell sometimes I have a problem going 100% off the sketch.

I just have to make each card my own.

However, I do try to keep within the concept of the original sketch.

What do you think?

This card may be given to my DH as his loves after me are electronics and design.

Stamps: TAC Robots
Paper: CTMH White Daisy, Later Sk8r Paper Packet
Ink: CTMH Archival BlackSharpies, Tombow ABT
Accessories: Spellbinders Shapeabilities Sprightly Sprockets

If you have a chance to play with us over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. We'd love to see what you create based off the sketch.

Happy Crafting,
M.E.
