Love at Christmas

Hi!

I hope y'all are having a wonderful December.

Today's card is a reminder of what truly matters at this time of the year.

For today's card I used the AHSC Sketch 34.

Also, they are doing a design team call at this time. Some of the lovely ladies on the team will be leaving in January. So if you've ever wanted to be on a design team this is your chance to try out.

Eye of Newt

Hi!

Today we started Midweek Papercraft Party (7) over at the Handmade Harbour blog.

This week's challenge theme is Halloween!

I don't know about you. But here at my house we LOVE Halloween. It's not that we're pagan, although I once was. It's just that it's one of those super fun celebratory days. Kinda like Valentine's Day except the hearts and lace aren't quite so pretty. Also my DH celebrates his birthday that day although it does actually fall on the Day of the Dead which starts on November 1st.

But his mom's not a big fan of skeletons so DH always got a Halloween themed party instead.

This week's theme was right up my alley.

For today's card I combined two digi stamps: 211 digital stamp - witch's or wizard's potion shelf for Halloween and the sentiment from 209 digital stamp - witches with cauldron humorous halloween image

Fun Fun Fun

Hi!

When I found this embossing folder in the Hobby Lobby Clearance section I just knew it was perfect for this stamp set from Unity Stamps.

Which is good because I've had the stamp set for a while now.

I entered this card into the Facebook group Unity {Show & Tell} - Itty Bitty a Day contest.

None of my cards have been picked to win but hey, at least I've been able to make good use of my Unity stamps.

Today, I can officially call myself a "College Student".

Yup. I registered for school and paid my tuition. My classes start September 16th.

Manly card? Feminine card? Why not both

Hi!

I got a chance to play along with the mini VSN (Virtual Stamp Night) over at SCS this weekend.

Oh, and just a heads up the main VSN will start on September 13th. Y'all will definitely want to play along with us.

National Underwear Day 2013

Hi!

OK. So I know there are a lot of random holidays and I mean who can keep up with them all.

But did you know that today is National Underwear Day?!?

This is the info I got on it from the National Underwear Day website.

In an effort to publicly shine light on “unmentionables,” Freshpair founded National Underwear Day on August 5th, 2003. Over the last 10 years we’ve celebrated underwear by hosting New York City model events, massive underwear giveaways, a pop-up shop in Columbus Circle, and a Times Square runway show.
Throughout the years, thousands of people have written us and shared acts of confidence. We’ve heard from cancer survivors struggling to regain their lives, men and women suffering with poor body image, and young and old embracing their sexuality. This year National Underwear Day is about YOU.
As the founder of National Underwear Day, Freshpair understands that confidence is the byproduct of believing in one’s self. And this year we want more people to do just that. That's why we're inviting everyone who has ever doubted themselves to join us in attempting to break a Guinness World Record in Times Square. All you need to bring is your underwear.
And not only is it National Underwear Day. It's also a Monday. So that's probably why the idea for this card came to mind.  I just couldn't help myself but create this card to celebrate.

Now although I'm blessed to not work outside the home. My DH does. And even though he took today off after being stuck on a business trip to China, that took a month. Which his company scheduled his trip to start on July 3rd. So he had to miss the Fourth of July. He's been having to deal with work emails and phone calls. So technically, he's still not even off.

Given all that my DH said I was wrong to create this card. Let  me know what you think.

Happiness

Hi!

I've been feeling the need to get a little stitch-y. So I couldn't help myself when I saw the HYCCT1207 challenge, which is Music Soothes the Soul. For this challenge we were to use pink and any music related stamps or paper.


Well the only music themed stamps are similar to the patterned paper I used below. Mostly because I love to see sheet music, it's probably from when I was in junior high and I was in the Choir. I've also been part of my Church choir although, now my voice is rubbish.


And although this In Stitch'z pattern is from Boys will be Boys. You've got to admit that girls rock too. After all just look at a few of my fave female singers: Pink, Katy Perry and Gwen Stefani.


Plus, I got to use this fun ticket stamp. It reminded me of a show ticket. Which just made me so happy. Sadly, I haven't been to a concert in a while. The last one I went to was awesome though. It was at Church and was with Ms. Gladys Knight and Saints Unified Voices. It was so spiritually uplifting.

Allegro Grandioso

Hi!

 I love making scenes with my stamps. I think it's one of my most favorite things to do. And I love my Unity stamps and Martha Stewart punches.

I created this card for a couple of challenges:
Part of the challenge from Unity Stamps is to not use any other stamps but theirs. And for
the HYCCT1213 challenge you are to reference this poem:
Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul
and sings the tune without the words
and never stops at all.


I used the Martha Stewart punch for the "thing with feathers"  in the poem and also for my Things in the Air for the Unity challenge. I also drew some birds flying off in the distance using my Sharpie.

Sadly Card Positioning Systems is retiring the blog. I love that blog. I've used quite a lot of their sketches in the past. So I couldn't let them leave without creating a good-bye card.
