Beauty all Around

Hi!

Today my team gets to share with y'all what we have made with AHSC Sketch #28.

Here is the sketch:
And this is what I've done with it.
Stamps: CTMH Home Sweet Home
Paper: CTMH White Daisy cardstock, Love, Elsie Roxie Bands
Paper Size: A2
Ink: CTMH Archival Black
Accessories: Spellbinders Shapeabilities Foliage Two, SU! Boho Blossoms

I'm also entering this card into the HYCCT1331C Challenge. Which was to create a black and white card, with just a pop of one of the colors listed below - indicating your "team" for Breaking Bad. Which happens to be one of me and my husband's favorite TV shows.

The team I picked was Team Holly, because she really is the only innocent one in that whole crazy series. And the one that all the other characters, well except for Pinkman say they want to protect. But if you've seen the show you know even Pinkman would want to save her too, because he totally loves kids.

We would love it if you would participate with us on AHSC. If you do let them know that Mary sent you. As we're having a contest to see how many people we can refer to the challenge blog.

Also, if you'd like to participate in the HYCCT challenges on SCS. There's still time, the deadline is November 7th. As someone who has had several family members battle with cancer, I know any card you could make would greatly help to brighten up the patients day.

Happy Crafting,
M.E.

Floating waterlilies

Hi!

This weekend and this week I'm playing catch-up when I can with the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges.

We are asked not to use scriptural sentiments on our cards.

And for the specific challenge I made this card for we were asked to, "make a card that's full of Peace & Quiet. NO WORDS on the front. Let your image(s) do the talking and get your message across."

I choose to go with this peaceful tranquil nature scene. But I feel that our Heavenly Father speaks to us through nature.

For as it says in Colossians 1:16-17
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Our Heavenly Father loves us and only wants good things for us so he has provided us with a wonderful planet that can not only take care of us, but we must care for it so that the balance is equal.

Cheery happy birthday

Hi!

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend.

I actually got my schoolwork done before midnight on Saturday. Which was awesome and gave me the chance to create some cards for the Hope You Can Cling To challenges that are going on at Splitcoast Stampers.

Most of the birthday cards I make these days are for my Ward's Relief Society.

I wouldn't really call it a Calling. But, I do it for the Relief Society every month.

I'm grateful that Heavenly Father has given me the talent of paper crafting. And that I can use that talent to enrich the lives of others.

Stamps: Wordsworth Stamps Everyday Whimsy
Paper: CTMH White Daisy

Manly card? Feminine card? Why not both

Hi!

I got a chance to play along with the mini VSN (Virtual Stamp Night) over at SCS this weekend.

Oh, and just a heads up the main VSN will start on September 13th. Y'all will definitely want to play along with us.

The challenge which can be found here: SEP13VSNMINIB Title: Men & Women

The challenge was to create two cards using about the same elements but make one masculine and the other feminine.

I'm also entering these cards into the One Crazy Stamper August Birthday Challenge and Guest DT Call.
Stamps: CTMH Joyful Birthday Occasions, Unity Stamp Co. Cowgirl Up, SU! Starstruck
Paper: SU! Chocolate Chip
Ink: CTMH Cotton Candy, Archival Black
Accessories: CM Small Circle ShapeMaker, MFT Die-namics Star Stax, CTMH Durables Round Studs

So what do you think? Do you think these cards do well to represent for masculine and feminine?

Have you ever tried to challenge yourself to do something similar to this? If so I'd love to see what you created.

Happy Crafting,

Because I care

Hi!

My DH is on a business trip. He's been gone for nearly a month.

So since I haven't started school yet and my microwave is broken. I've been venturing out of the house.

On one of my ventures I saw took a class at Archiver's, called Painted with Style. Sadly they didn't have the stamps available from the class but I am on the waiting list.

Today I remembered that I have this stamp set in my supplies. It doesn't have any cool brush strokes or circles but it does have these splotches. And I just had to play with my stamp set.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Moxie Fab World - Tuesday Trigger: A Painterly Palette
SplitcoastStampers - CC432: Smoky Curry Cabana
Pile It On - Pile It On #29: Thinking of You/Just Because

Stamps: Recollections Script, SU! Best Yet
Paper: CTMH Slate cardstock
Ink: CTMH Archival Black, Lagoon, Buttercup, Slate
Accessories: CTMH stapler, staples, Studio18 Rhinestones, Darice B/W Script Washi Masking Tape, Queen & Co Trendy Tape, SU! Spiral punch
I'm still new to working with washi tape and this whole paint splatter thing. So please be constructive with your comments.

Happy Crafting,
M.E.

P.S. I forgot to include the Tuesday Trigger picture.

Y'all should definitely join in this challenge. It's so fun.

Best Wishes

Hi!

I wanted to share a card with you that I created back in October. Actually, this will be the first of a series of cards I plan on sharing from back then.

You see while I was writing a post for my blog, I discovered that there was quite a few projects I hadn't gotten around to posting.

This card was created for the Hope You Can Cling To challenges on Splitcoast Stampers.

Maybe if I plan this out correctly I can get us from today all the way to when the next round of HYCCT challenges.

The HYCCT challenges are a card drive to send cards to the MD Anderson Cancer Center, right here in Texas, to benefit those affected by breast cancer. This drive is organized by Splitcoast Stampers.

The HYCCT challenge is a wonderful cause and reason. But last year it was especially wonderful for me to participate. You see my mom was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year. And for half the year I spent my days taking her to chemo therapy and radiation treatment. Fortunately, my mom's cancer is in remission. Which I am so thankful for and why I contributed last year.

I know remission isn't always 100% guaranteed not to come back or be hereditary. You see my mom's sister got the same cancer last year and died. And, of course, there are so many different forms of cancer. Like my dad had brain cancer, my FIL had prostate, and as a woman there's always a fear of breast cancer. And although the HYCCT challenges are for breast cancer patients and their families, cancer is something that effects everyone from all walks of life.

And I'm thankful to have my family and that's why I felt like participating and sharing my talents.

This is the card I created for this wonderful challenge.

The sentiment stamp is from the Close to My Heart Chantilly Scrapbooking Workshop. It has some gorgeous papers and stamps not just for scrapbooking with but also for creating cards.

HYCCT Winners

Hi!

I just wanted to share with y'all some of the winners of the HYCCT prizes over at SCS.

Specifically the ones that won the Can You Digi It? prize packages.

The winners for the C.Y.D.I. prizes have been announced. They are:
  1. tessaduck
  2. stamping_crazy
  3. LMcAree
  4. Lindsay Ettlinger
Congratulations to all of you. I'm so glad that the SplitcoastStampers can get together as a community
and help out the patients at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center to benefit patients being treated for breast cancer and their families.

I would check back on the SCS site for more details, if you are one of the winners.

I know when my mom was going through cervical cancer treatment  this year it was scary for all of us.  I mean she's our rock and she never gets sick. Plus, right before my mom was diagnosed her sister back home in the Philippines had just died from cervical cancer. Of course my mom is here in the US and medical treatment is significantly better here.

Fortunately for us my mom is currently in remission and I will be taking her to see her Oncologist in January for a follow-up.

I hope y'all have a blessed day.

Happy crafting,

Happiness

Hi!

I've been feeling the need to get a little stitch-y. So I couldn't help myself when I saw the HYCCT1207 challenge, which is Music Soothes the Soul. For this challenge we were to use pink and any music related stamps or paper.

Well the only music themed stamps are similar to the patterned paper I used below. Mostly because I love to see sheet music, it's probably from when I was in junior high and I was in the Choir. I've also been part of my Church choir although, now my voice is rubbish.

And although this In Stitch'z pattern is from Boys will be Boys. You've got to admit that girls rock too. After all just look at a few of my fave female singers: Pink, Katy Perry and Gwen Stefani.

Plus, I got to use this fun ticket stamp. It reminded me of a show ticket. Which just made me so happy. Sadly, I haven't been to a concert in a while. The last one I went to was awesome though. It was at Church and was with Ms. Gladys Knight and Saints Unified Voices. It was so spiritually uplifting.

What's your favorite type of music? Who's your favorite female that rocks?

Stamps: Unity Stamp Company Ticket to Life
Ink: VersaColor Raspberry
Accessories: Prism Craft Thread, Bazzill Basics Paper In Stitch'z Boys will be Boys

I love

Hi!

Today's card shares a lot of the things I LOVE. Which are
  • pink
  • butterflies
  • ink
  • black
  • pearls
I even got a chance to use something I've been hoarding for a while which are my pearls from Want2Scrap. When I went to CKC San Marcos this year that was one of the things I was looking for in their booth. This pack has such an awesome assortment of pearls of 3 various sizes. Sadly when I went this year they didn't have any awesome packs like that. So let me tell you if I use a card with these pearls it's for a special purpose.

What do you have in your craft room that you are hoarding?
Stamps: TAC Trendy Greetings
Paper: TPC Studio Girlfriends Brocade
Ink: VersaColor Raspberry, Black
Accessories: SU! Scalloped Edge Border punch, Modern Label, Martha Stewart 3-in-1 butterfly, Want2Scrap Self adhesive pearls

The best things

Hi!

I created today's card during VSN on SCS.

I love VSN I wish I'd had a chance to play more. Well maybe I can play more
this month as over on SCS they're doing Hope You Can Cling To.

It's in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And remember ladies
if we don't take care of ourselves no one else will. We've got to protect the tatas.

We don't have a history of Breast Cancer on my side of the family although we do have
a history of Cervical Cancer on my mom's. Plus my dad's side of the family has Brain Cancer and my DH's side has a history of Prostate Cancer. So at least there's a bright side to us not being able to conceive as our child will hopefully come from a better medical family history.

I do hope to be able to share with you some of the cards that I get to create for HYCCT, but until
then this is the final card from VSN on SCS.

I hope you like it.

Stamps: SU Life Shared
Paper: Jillibean Soup Coconut Lime Soup Coordinating Paper,Good Day Sunshine by Deena Rutter
Ink: Copics, SU, CTMH Chocolate, Sharpies, Bic Markits

This weekend I'll be participating in a blog hop for World Card Making Day. So I hope to see
you back here then. Also I will probably post about some blog candy later this week. So stay tuned.

Merry Christmas Alice (Yes, I know it's July)

Nothing like a HOT July summer to make you
think about making Christmas cards. ;)

Well, I don't know what the weather's like where
you are but I'm here in TX. Which means it's
HOT. We've been in the 100s for so long, but hey
we do get to wake up in the 80s which feels cool.

This week over at Anyone for Anya? they are
doing a Christmas in July! challenge.

For the sketch on this card I used the Card
Confidence Program Originals book. There is a
TON of card sketches inside, 128 pages worth.
This book is available through CTMH (Close to
My Heart) catalog. Which can be purchased online
or if you wait until August 1st, that's when I
will be signing up for my Consultant kit.

So do you wanna see my super cute Christmas card?

Stamps: TGF Wonderland, Bombshell Stamps Holiday Accessory
Paper: scraps from my stash
Ink: Palette Noir Black, SU Classic Chocolate Chip, SU Stampin' Write Bravo Burgundy
Accessories: Regency Baker's Twine
So what do you think?

Have you been working on Christmas cards?
Or maybe Halloween or Thanksgiving cards?

I've been working on all of the above or
at least ideas for them as I'm participating in
a card swap over  at SCS for them. There's still
time and room if you would also like to
participate here. Plus the card swap is a Clean
and Simple swap.

Hope you have a good weekend. We're at home
watching the Olympics.

We're here in the USA so we're definitely
TEAM USA!!!

What's your team?

Happy Birthday Bella

Sorry, this card isn't for you Bella Cullen. It's for the Stamping Bella contest I saw over at SCS.

So I was hanging out over on SCS (Splitcoast Stampers) the other day. And they had a challenge to create a Stamping Bella card with a tag in it.

Stamps: Stamping Bella elizabella, sentiment(retired)
Ink: Palette Noir Black, Copic, W2 Warm Gray No. 2, E00 Skin White, R11 Pale Cherry Pink, Bic Markit Yellow Blaze, Honey Brown
Accessories: SU Modern Label Punch, CM Corner Rounder, We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Fancy Blueberry Floss, buttons from my stash
Techniques: Paper piecing

I used a few of my scrap papers on it, except for the card base. Which I put on
white cardstock. The background paper was paper I made myself while playing
around with inks and overdeveloped photo paper. I did it such a long time ago
I can't remember what ink I used. This particular Bella stamp is my favorite
stamp to paper piece with.

We had a death in the family and I've been helping my mom cope. I've just

Back to being Naughty

Bombshell Betty Card
Hi!

I wanted to change things up a bit after being so good for Christmas.

Did Santa bring you anything good?

He brought me a Quickutz Silhouette. I can't wait to start using it.

I created this card for a swap I am participating in over at SCS. It's called
It's all about Women. And the sketch also came from SCS, it's Sketch Challenge 255.

And since Christmas is over for another year. I figured now would
be the perfect time to be a little naughty.

I showed this card off to dh and he said she reminds him of Bettie Page.

Here's a video in case you don't know who she is.

Bettie Page
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bettie Page (April 22, 1923 – December 11, 2008)[2] was an American model who became famous in the 1950s for her fetish modeling and pin-up photos. She has often been called the "Queen of pinups".[3] Her look, including her jet black hair and trademark bangs, has influenced many artists.

She was also one of the earliest Playmates of the Month for Playboy magazine. "I think that she was a remarkable lady, an iconic figure in pop culture who influenced sexuality, taste in fashion, someone who had a tremendous impact on our society,"[4] Playboy founder Hugh Hefner told the Associated Press.

That's why I'd say she's a little naughty. But don't all men like a woman who is?

Materials Used:
Stamps: Bombshell Stamps Bombshell Angel
Paper: Wausau paper, GCD Studios Tropic Tulips Lost in Paradise Collection, Archiver's Black cardstock
Ink: Sharpies, Copic R00 Pinkish White, YG11 Mignonette, R35 Coral, Bic Mark-it Honey Brown, Rambunctious Red, Palette Hybrid Inkpad Noir Black

Club Anya Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Club Anya Holiday Blog Hop!

If you've just happened upon my blog, you can CLICK HERE to start from
the beginning at the Club Anya blog. There you will find the list of all the
bloggers participating in the hop.

I just love The Greeting Farm stamps. I don't have as many of the sets as
I would like to have.

I did let Santa know that I'd like the TGF sets that look similar to the Cullens
from my fave book series Twilight. If Santa could turn back time I would
totally get the TGF set that came out just before New Moon.

Today I used some of my TGF digi stamps.

The sketch I used for this first card came from SCS it's Sketch Challenge,

Bringing you Sunshine

Bringing you Sunshine
Hi!

I just received this fun image in a Virtual Shoebox Swap that I participated in over
at SCS. Very cool.

I did change her up a bit to make her more my style.

Also there's a CASE Contest over at Club Anya. This is Ohio Mary's card that I CASEd. I just love those Anya's and Ian's. DH thinks they look like weird space aliens though.

I did use quite a bit of what was sent to create the Original Shoebox Swap card. However, I changed it by adding in the Honeydew and Cactus Cardstock. I used the original card base as the layer under the floral paper, didn't use all the embellishments that were send to make the original either.

You should see the original here at SCS.

Materials Used:
Stamps: TGF
Paper: CM Cardstock Cactus, Honeydew, Minds Eye
Ink: Memento, Copic RV13 Tender Pink, E00 Skin White, R35 Coral, Bic Mark-its Tiki Hut Tan, Woodsy Brown, Honey Brown, Pink Flamingo, Fandango Pink

Do Not Open ... Christmas Card

Hi!

I created this card after doing a Make-and-Take at Archiver's.

Here's a group shot of all the cards that I created.

Where they showed us how to use round card using the new Sizzix embossing folders. I asked the employee there if the embossing folder was like the ones that Cuttlebug has. And she said she didn't know because she didn't know what that was. The lady next to me who had just used it said that it was. I was just shocked by how little someone that works at a National Scrapbook Store could be.

My mil owns a local scrapbook store and she makes it her business to know what's out there. I'm just surprised that a store like Archiver's doesn't train their employee about something like that if there introducing something that's in direct competition with it.

Plus, I have seen round cards in a lot of places lately.

Materials Used:
Stamps: SU! Perfect Presentation, KI Memories Christmas
Paper: CM Cardstock Cactus, Bazzill Basics Paper Pomegranate Splash
Ink: VersaColor VC-82 Black
Accessories: Quickutz Nesting Flowers CC-FLOWERS-01, CM Custom Cutting System Circle, CM Mini Circle Shapemake, Cuttlebug Allegro Embossing Folder
